Lightsail's pricing is simple at $3.50/month for 1 GB RAM, 1 CPU, 40 GB SSD, and 1 TB transfer. The $7/month plan offers 2 GB RAM, 2 CPUs, 60 GB SSD, and 2 TB transfer. However, data transfer overage is expensive at $0.09/GB, significantly higher than competitors like Vultr ($0.01/GB).

Lightsail runs on the same AWS infrastructure as EC2, providing excellent uptime and reliability. The 61 global datacenters give Lightsail the broadest geographic coverage of any VPS provider. China connectivity is available through AWS's China regions (Beijing and Ningxia), though these require separate account registration.

Lightsail's main advantage is AWS ecosystem integration. For standalone VPS needs, Vultr, DO, or Linode offer better value. Lightsail's data transfer overage ($0.09/GB) is a significant drawback for high-traffic sites compared to competitors' $0.01/GB.
